This book presents a new series of paintings by Anselm Kiefer. Surprisingly, their subject matter is a topic from the Christian mythology, the Catholic Mariolatry. In his iconography of the heavenly Kiefer has gone back to exploring domestic territories. His pictures of the Virgin Mary are the first works he created in his new Paris residence.
